So this is pretty awful I haven't updated this site in two years but I thought you should all know that google is outdating google pages and changing them all to google sites. Everything is pretty much still the same and I will finally be finishing up the renovations that I started way back when so check back in about a week and they should be all done. I have decided that my new goal is to listen to all of the works of Beethoven. And to better enhance this experience I am going to begin reading different bio's on him. I have added a page that I will update periodically to let you know what I've learned. So far I've learned only the date of his baptism and his believed birth date. It's pretty interesting and I hope you all enjoy it like I have.

I can't believe I haven't posted in soo long! Well anyway, as you can tell I've just joined March of Dimes. March of Dimes is to help raise money to fund research to prevent prematurity and birth defects. I'm truely not entirely sure of what I'm doing but I hope to raise $3000 in memory of my baby sister Rachel Cheri Mattes born at 4 months in May of 2005. She had Down syndrome and Huntington's disease. If there is anyone who would like to walk with me you can go to http://www.marchforbabies.org/default.aspx. and click join a team and type in Rachel Cheri. Go to the "songs" page. Here's what the browser bar will display

Hey! I just realized a made a change w/o posting! Can't do that :P Anyway, I found a really cool site (well I think it's cool) called project playlist (at playlist.com) and you make playlists of your favorite songs and then you can make it so they play on your websites and blogs and stuff. I put one on the songs page. Most of the songs have a page on here for their lyrics, but not all of them. It was lots of fun to make! Mine is on random play so you don't have to listen to the begining of the same song whenever you visit. Which is a good thing cause I have almost met the 100 song limit, so every time you visit you'll have a new song to hear. Well, I hope you like it!

Hey everybody! I haven't posted in a loooong time, but I wanted you to know I'm still alive! I updated the "Songs" list, but not really anything else. And I tried to put a link on all the songs, but I'm running out of time. I have to pack! Anyway, there are two songs I want to highlight that are really good! 1. Your Beautiful Soul by Jesse McCartney (just for you Nan ;)) and 2. Fall Down by Superchick. I really like those songs! The first one is just sooo sweet! The music video isn't very good. I watched it today and there was some suggestive stuff that really detracted from the song. And the other song is really fun, upbeat and makes you feel ok about making mistakes cause you can get up again!

Anyway, I hope you enjoy them and send me the names of some of your favorite songs so I can put them here!

Hello World!

Yes she lives! I've been so busy I haven't even really been checking my email. So what did you all think of conference? I thought it was amazing! I loved all the talks and it was exactly what I needed.

If you missed conference I would reccomend going to lds.org and watching some of the videos or reading some of the articles. When you get to the homepage it's displayed right there for now that the transcripts are published and there's a link to get to them. Easier than me telling you how to get to them thru the archives.

Anyway, since my last post I've been working, taking a basic EMT class, working at Chick-fil-A and have started school. It's deffinately keeping me out of trouble. I barely have time to turn around! But I have been finding time to do some yoga on some days. I haven't been getting to youth night at church very much. Since I'm taking EMT class on tuesdays and thursdays I need wednesday nights to work. Oh well, I miss it a lot but I'm learning new things and making new friends and that's usually a good thing right? 

Well, I found a new fun thing to do and I'm going to try it out. I'll tell you what it was if I like it!   

Leaving For Camp

I have deffinately decided I like President Reagan. He was awesome! And I would deffinately recommend watching/reading (I haven't read) "Reagan's War". It was a little difficult to follow the movie, but I had some interesting thoughts while watching it and really enjoyed it.

Anyway, like I said I'm leaving for camp and will be back on Saturday afternoon. In the meantime, just so you won't miss me :), I posted some new quotes on my lyrics page. There are quite a few by Winston Churchill that I found while looking for something else, but hey, who can resist a Churchill quote?! Hope you enjoy!

Things you learn from you brothers

Did you know that you can shoot a potato 60 feet out of a pvc pipe with a sparker and some hairspray?

Did you know that for the past 6 years the inner tubes we've been buying for the pool are black and white so that they look like tires?

Did you know that if you cover the flash on a digital camera while taking a picture the picture turns red?

And if you cover the focus the picture turns blue?

Did you know that they use squished beetles to get rid of planter warts?

And ingrown toenails can happen within two weeks of eachother?

Anything funny is only stays funny if there is at least a 5 second gap between citations and then only 3 times repeated in one hour. Don't be the cause of annoyance.

Stalling

Yes I am a procrastinator (sp?) if'n you couldn't tell and right now I'm avoiding doing something that should be done by 8 o'clock tomorrow morning. I'm bad I know. Well, I just wanted to tell you I went to an awesome LDSEHE conference this week at VA beach! LDSEHE is Latter Day Saint Eastern Home Educators. It was amazing! There were fantastic speakers which I'll tell you about later. And I met some awesome incredible youth of my age and standards and position. For those of you aren't homeschoolers, it's not often for someone like me to find someone else my age who understands what you're talking about in religion as well as how awkward it feels being around other people our age (if that makes any sense :)) Well, I just wanted my friends, homeschooled and not, to know I love them and that I'm glad they're my friends. And to my not homeschooled friends I wanted to say thanks for putting up with my idiosyncrasies and oddities.
